EDUCATION
Education and training are key components to real estate investment success. CREIA strives to offer its members multiple educational opportunities through out the year in a variety of settings, times and format.
In addition to self-paced education available via CREIA's extensive library of books, videos and tapes, the organization offers formal and informal training programs in many other ways. These include 12 monthly meetings at which one or two real estate investment topics are covered; up to five different Subgroup meetings each month in which specific formal or informal programs/subjects are offered; Saturday Seminars, which are generally held monthly and/or at least one National Speaker Seminar each year.
The educational backbone of most new investors who join CREIA is the Basic Real Estate Investment Course created and taught primarily by Bill Goacher, one of the founding members of CREIA.
In 2001 CREIA began offering a Professional Housing Provider or PHP Course, which is taught at AB-Tech.
A National Real Estate Investment Cruise is also offered annually.
At a minimum, CREIA members are offered at least 50 formal/informal educational/training programs annually. Most cost nothing, such as the monthly meetings and Focus Group sessions, and are available to you as part of your membership fee.
Saturday Seminars and National Speaker Programs are offered at modest prices.

Focus Groups
A wise investor once said, "Every time I attend a Focus Group meeting, I learn something that I can use in my Real Estate Investing career."
Money is made in Real Estate by solving problems. Since every 'deal' is different, the more solutions you are aware of, the greater the potential to make a profit. There are many opportunities each month to gain problem solving skills at Focus Group meetings. Each meeting has a scheduled topic and speaker. The topics focus on a particular area or level of Real Estate Investing. The speakers are local professionals, willing to share their knowledge and expertise in specific aspects of Real Estate Investing. We are always looking for NEW ideas, so please let me know if you have an idea for a different Focus Group or think of a topic that is not being covered adequately.
Focus Groups are a benefit of membership in CREIA. A guest may 'visit' a group ONCE ONLY. Thereafter, the cost to 'visit' any CREIA Focus Group is $15 per visit. All Focus Groups are held in and around Asheville, NC unless otherwise noted. Meetings that are scheduled at a restaurant are dinner meetings and allow time for a meal in the schedule.
